Clean Author Spotlight

Clean Fantasy Author Grace Pringle

When I started this portion of my blog, I wanted to highlight up and coming authors that were dedicated to clean fiction stories without the squeamish scenes and over-the-top sequences of gore.

The good news is that with a little bit of searching, there are plenty of authors that adhere to these same goals. Plenty of adventure, powerful character roles, and scenes that will leave you breathless, all without that distasteful “what did I just read?” feeling to follow.

Enter author Grace Pringle. She is a young mom of six, Canadian kickboxer, and a ridiculously-good fantasy writer with a debut novel, Silver Blood, coming out this summer (2024). This isn’t your average dragon story, it is a tale of the divided land of Quith, where kingdoms struggle for control and three friends must overcome curses, navigate deals, and confront death on an epic scale.

In order to keep up with Grace, you’ll want to pick up her short comedic fantasy romance, Soul Threads, for FREE, if you sign up for her newsletter at gracepringle.com. Not only will you get a taste of Grace’s writing prowess, you’ll also be first to hear when her book releases, and get the inside scoop for other books she has in progress.

I can’t say enough that as readers (and publishers, are you listening?) we need to support clean reads from excellent authors. There is a growing trend of people looking for stories they can feel confident won’t contain the smut and ick some of the recent big-name authors have put out. Fortunately, there are plenty of writers like Grace Pringle who have stepped up to the plate and delivered.

If you are looking for other recommended authors offering clean content for readers of all ages, check out my clean reads page where I list recommended authors and series here. Keep checking this page as I will be adding more when I hear of them.

You see it every day. The people you work with, interact with at the grocery store, church, or on the road. Empty. Discouraged. Defeated.

If you were to stop and ask them, they might tell you it’s something they are going through–a family issue, some financial concerns, cancer. But like you, they know it goes deeper than that. There’s something wrong with the world today.

If you were like me, reading a book about Hell wasn’t the first on the TBR list. It might haven’t been ever on there, in fact, had I not forced myself to take a peek.
