Meet Rosauro Ugang, graphic design wizard, drawing master, new dad. And the magic behind Descendant Publishing’s illustrations.
We first encountered Rosauro back in 2018 when publishing The Watcher Key. Taking a chance, we hired him for the project of designing an illustration for the book cover.
Sending him a small portion of the book and a very crude drawing, we put the future look of the Descendants of Light series in his hands. And we waited, three excruciating but exciting weeks to see what he would come up with.
When we got the result, we were stunned. Never could we have wished for something better. And from this, grew a wonderful relationship with Rosauro. Even though we hail from across a great distance, we are honored to call Rosauro one of Descendant Publishing’s tribe members.
I asked Rosauro to send me a picture and a Bio so we could let him know how much we appreciate his working with us. Needless to say, he is a man of few words:
Rosauro Ugang, born and raised in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. Started drawing at the age of 3. Began his artistic career at a publishing company in 2009 and worked as a children’s book illustrator. Started illustrating freelance in 2011 up to the present. Currently, doing 3d character sculpting and 3d printing.
Again, we asked Rosauro for an illustration for book #2, The Watcher Tower, and again we were stunned. It was as amazing or even more so than the first illustration.
From our time with Rosauro, we discovered two very important things. First, we are confident in his abilities and are honored to have him work on the illustration for book #3, and other series as they come along. You could even say we are a bit possessive! And second, we couldn’t have been so lucky as to find such an amazing illustrator on our own. God led him to us. And we are thankful for him.
