Writing Update February 2022

Writing Update

The snow fell heavily to the ground, adding another level onto the drifts that had already piled against the sides of the cabin. Inside, Troy sat in the soft leather chair near the fireplace, a cup of coffee in his hand. His laptop was open, the cursor blinking on the screen.

Setting the coffee cup down, he tapped out the final sentences of the chapter. There. He thought, satisfaction in his eyes. The final chapter of his book was now complete. Finished perfectly, ending with a bang, just as he had hoped.

Closing the lid to the laptop, Troy turned and blew out the candle. Outside, the storm intensified, the snow falling faster past the window. Enough for the evening. He thought. I’ll start the next book tomorrow…

Okay, so I don’t have a cabin in the woods, and often my nights of writing don’t include a cup of coffee in a nice leather chair. There usually isn’t a fire in the fireplace, and never do my stories end in the perfect apogee of events.

Often, it is long past bedtime when I crack open the laptop. Sometimes, when we are traveling to Ohio, I am fumbling on the keyboard as we bump down the road. I do, however, always have my cup of coffee nearby!

As I mentioned last update, my Demon Tide book was nearly finished, but I was having trouble with the ending. With much deliberation and a break away from the story, I think I finally did it. It’s finished! Now comes the hard work of getting a cover design, editing and formatting, and all the legal stuff that goes into publishing a book. In the meantime, there is plenty to do–working on other projects with Descendant Publishing as well as starting book two. I’m having trouble figuring out a title for the next book, perhaps some of my readers can help me out…

Well, that’s it for this month. I have a few more storylines I’m working on, including the spy thriller and a heart-pounding Sci-fi series. Stay tuned for some really cool projects!

Until the next update, I’m signing off!

Standing Against the Darkness

You see it every day. The people you work with, interact with at the grocery store, church, or on the road. Empty. Discouraged. Defeated.

If you were to stop and ask them, they might tell you it’s something they are going through–a family issue, some financial concerns, cancer. But like you, they know it goes deeper than that. There’s something wrong with the world today.

Never. Lose. Hope.

If you were like me, reading a book about Hell wasn’t the first on the TBR list. It might haven’t been ever on there, in fact, had I not forced myself to take a peek.
