Writing Update January 2023

New Year. New Books. Less Chatting.

This update will be short and sweet, because I want to get back to it. Why, you ask? Aren’t you a writer? Destined to fill page upon insufferable page with useless fantasies and bland dialogue? Well, yes. That is why this update will be short.

Don’t worry if you are confused, I tend to confuse lots of people. Maybe I’m a trailblazer of verbiage. Or maybe I’m slipping into madness.

Either way, I have made it my goal to write this year. Not long-winded, stodgy writing updates–no. I want to write as many books as I can. Maybe it was the NaNoWriMo challenge I attempted this year that spurred my earnestness. Or maybe it is a desire to make something of myself before I do actually slip into madness.

Either way, I love writing. It calms me. Regardless of whether I become a best-selling author or resort to filing into the ranks of those artists of prose that watch others pass through the veil of greatness, I will still enjoy writing. I do it for myself, and I do it for my Lord.

This year, I hope all of you will keep me accountable to continue writing. I know already there are those that will: Wifey, Mom and Dad (on both sides), my sis Tracy, Josh, Dawn, Sarah, Doug & Doug, Sandy, Josiah, Andy, and so many others.

Thank you all btw. With that, I’m going to get to it! I HAVE ONE CHAPTER LEFT!

Standing Against the Darkness

You see it every day. The people you work with, interact with at the grocery store, church, or on the road. Empty. Discouraged. Defeated.

If you were to stop and ask them, they might tell you it’s something they are going through–a family issue, some financial concerns, cancer. But like you, they know it goes deeper than that. There’s something wrong with the world today.

Never. Lose. Hope.

If you were like me, reading a book about Hell wasn’t the first on the TBR list. It might haven’t been ever on there, in fact, had I not forced myself to take a peek.
