Writing Update May 2022

Are you done with your new series yet?

Are you done with your new series yet? “No. I’m not,” I respond while casting a wary eye at my wife. She knows that when I finally say that I am ready, she will have a mountain of work ahead of her, formatting, designing, ePub’ing (Yeah, I made that up), and all the other things that go into publishing a new book.

While I do plan to have my first (and maybe my second) book ready by the end of the year, I have decided that I am not going to push it. Since I have a tendency to make commitments that I know I can’t keep and then work myself silly trying to fulfill them, I am glad I have Stacy nearby to help keep my feet on the ground.

This past month we have been furiously finishing up something really special–an educational curriculum to go along with my first book The Watcher Key. We are really excited for the possibilities! Our hope is that parents and educators will be able to add an element of reading comprehension and creative writing to go along with my series. More on that later.

We somehow managed to fit in a much-needed vacation with the family to Florida this year, and had an absolute blast. I would like to thank my parents for providing the beach condo again. We spent many days relaxing on the beach and eating way too much. Fun times!

There is plenty in the works for upcoming books, including two of my own, a re-release and big push to get audiobooks finished, and a really interesting one from our new author. I will be sure to keep you all updated.

One last thing: I would like to take a moment and thank our fallen heroes for the ultimate sacrifice they have given for our freedom. I urge you to take a moment to pray for our country, and for those who continue to serve. May God continue to bless America.

That’s all for now. We have to get up early tomorrow to go see the new Top Gun movie. Until next month, I’m signing off.

You see it every day. The people you work with, interact with at the grocery store, church, or on the road. Empty. Discouraged. Defeated.

If you were to stop and ask them, they might tell you it’s something they are going through–a family issue, some financial concerns, cancer. But like you, they know it goes deeper than that. There’s something wrong with the world today.

Never. Lose. Hope.

If you were like me, reading a book about Hell wasn’t the first on the TBR list. It might haven’t been ever on there, in fact, had I not forced myself to take a peek.
