Writing Update September 2022

Okay, I have to admit, I love Fall the best. Call me basic, but I can literally eat anything made out of pumpkin. Pumpkin doughnuts, pumpkin pie, pumpkin pancakes…

And of course, pumpkin spice lattes.

My favorite thing about Fall, however, is when the cooler weather starts to move in. Sure, that means less time at the beach, but it also means cozy tv binging on the couch and lots of writing.

That reminds me, I learned a new word while Stacy and I traveled the shores of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula.

“Hygge.” Pronounced hyoo·guh. It’s Danish, and means “Cozy.” Not just cozy, but like the essence of cozy. Or maybe the process of getting cozy. It’s kind of a mystery, honestly.

So here in the cold frost-bitten realm of northern Michigan, many Scandinavians have made the shores of Superior their home. In winter it gets bitter cold with enough snow to bury a motorhome, but that just means more time for hygge. I think that’s how you use it. If I’m wrong, please my Danish readers, tell me!

Demon Tide is coming along well. I got stuck on chapter 12, but I think I’ve found my inspiration again. The story is coming together nicely! I think you will love it. I am loving writing it.

One more thing, and I am super excited about it. Our almost-famous new author, Bryan Mitchell, is debuting his book, Infernal Fall this October. We are working hard on getting the formatting completed and designs inserted. I know Bryan has put his heart and soul into this thing, and I think it’s going to be a hit.

For those of you wondering, the story at its foundation is a modern twist on Dante’s Inferno. Daniel, in a terrible turn of events while trying to propose to his girlfriend, Kristine, finds himself trapped in Hell. Through a series of choices, he must traverse the various levels of Hell to get back to Kristine.

Preorder is coming up September 25, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. I will send a link as soon as it’s available for order.

Well, that’s all for now. Lots of work to do. Signing off for now,

Troy

Standing Against the Darkness

You see it every day. The people you work with, interact with at the grocery store, church, or on the road. Empty. Discouraged. Defeated.

If you were to stop and ask them, they might tell you it’s something they are going through–a family issue, some financial concerns, cancer. But like you, they know it goes deeper than that. There’s something wrong with the world today.

Never. Lose. Hope.

If you were like me, reading a book about Hell wasn’t the first on the TBR list. It might haven’t been ever on there, in fact, had I not forced myself to take a peek.
